it's official

so, here is the biggest change in my life: i have applied to be an international volunteer through a wonderful international organization "Projects Abroad" and will spend 1o weeks working on the community building project and living with a ghanian family. (which would mean leaving my job of course). assuming i am accepted, the plan is to leave my job in early november - it's been just over 3 years and while i have stuck around for so many changes and challenges, it's not longer a job i enjoy or feel is the right one for me. i will be travelling to charlotte (3 times in 2 months!), ireland and england before the end of the year and will be travelling to ghana the first couple days of the new year. my initial thoughts are excitement, butterflies, fear, and the general thought of what in the world was i thinking ?!?! but i know that while i am off helping others i will have a lot of time for reflection and thought about the next chapter of my life. i just spent the last hour pouring through information that they have sent me (like i have to iron ALL my clothes after i wash them so that i can kill and eggs that bugs may have laid while my clothes were drying...great!) and have lots more to do. i will post more sometime next week, in the meantime feel free to check out their website: http://www.projectsabroad.org/
